Austin Office:
Every time we treat a patient, we will start with the most conservative treatment possible for any injury or problem they have. In many cases, a conservative approach is not possible and we may need to proceed directly to a surgical approach. This is where our many years of study, internships and residencies are vital. We have the experience and training to determine the right approach to your problem.
Our feet are very complex structures. They have 26 bones and 33 joints and many muscles, tendons and ligaments. In the case of arthritis, cysts, infections and fractures, their repair must be carried out precisely if the foot is to be strong after treatment. You will be walking on your feet for many thousands of hours in the future and we want those hours to be pain-free.
At Southwest Austin Foot and Ankle Clinic, our expertise extends from correcting cosmetic and comfort problems like bunions all the way to precision repair of multiple fractures. We take great pride in restoring both function and aesthetic appearance to our patients’ feet and ankles.
Some simple surgeries can be done in our office with a local anesthetic. For more complex surgeries that require a general anesthetic, we utilize the facilities of one of the local hospitals with which we have excellent relationships. In fact, the doctors at Southwest Austin Foot and Ankle Clinic are on the staff of all the major local hospitals. We are also the preferred consulting group for these hospitals, available to help them with any case that requires our specialty.
We routinely perform surgeries such as these:
We can offer our surgical care at any of the following medical facilities:
When you are having a problem with your feet or ankles, it’s important to get care sooner rather than later. There are many problems with these structures that can be repaired or corrected easily when they are caught early. But when they intensify for years, treatment can be much more complex, possibly requiring foot or ankle surgery. In that situation, recovery time is much longer.
We are dedicated to the pain-free health and function of your feet and ankles. Please consult with us as soon as you notice pain, swelling or other problems beginning to develop, or if you experience a foot or ankle injury.
